Caught Safe or Sober Contest Rules & Privacy Policy
1. How to Enter. No purchase necessary. Contestants must receive an entry form from a police check stop or Operation Red Nose and complete their entry at www.besafeandsober.com.
2. Prizes. There are two (2) grand prizes to be won as described on the contest ballot.
3. Contest Eligibility. Contestants must be at least 18 years of age and residents of Manitoba to participate in this contest. Only one entry per person is permitted. Multiple entries will be disqualified. Manitoba Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) employees and immediate families living in the same residence, along with any respective agents, representatives, promotional agencies and assignees, are not eligible to win this contest.
4. Contest Closing Date. The contest closing date is January 10, 2012.
5. Selection of Winners. ChangeMakers Marketing Communications will make a draw on behalf of MLCC on January 10, 2012. Each winning entry will be randomly selected and the name on the entry will be declared the potential winner. Potential winners will be contacted by telephone. Winning is subject to the selected participant successfully answering a skill-testing question. The winner’s name will be posted on www.besafeandsober.com.
6. Chances of Winning. The chances of winning a prize will depend on the total number of eligible entries received before the draw deadline in accordance with these rules.
7. No Substitutions by Winners. The prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution, and cannot be transferred. The prizes have no cash equivalent.
8. Decisions Final. All decisions made by ChangeMakers Marketing Communications on behalf of MLCC with respect to all aspects of this contest are final and not subject to challenge. These rules may be amended at any time without notice. MLCC expressly reserve the right to take any steps they deem necessary in their absolute discretion, including the limiting of entries and the exclusion of entrants, in order to ensure that the contest is conducted in a fair way for all contestants and for MLCC.
9. No Liability. MLCC and their employees, agents, representatives, promotional agencies and assignees shall not be responsible in any way for loss or damage arising from the use of or, bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to, the prize awarded in this contest or the entry by a contestant herein. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, MLCC assume no responsibility or liability for any risk or dangers associated with the acceptance or use of the prize awarded as part of this contest or any liability associated with online or electronic entries, and expressly disclaims liability from loss or damage to a contestant’s computer system howsoever caused arising from bugs, viruses or technical failures in any way associated with or arising from, online or electronic entries.
10. Entries belong to MLCC. All entries become the property of MLCC and will not be returned.
11. Lost Entries. MLCC is not responsible for any entries that are not received.
12. Consent to Use. By entering the contest, entrants consent to the use and publication of their name and statements in connection with the contest or any subsequent promotions held by MLCC, without payment or compensation other than the chance to win the prize awarded.
13. Applicable Laws. This contest is subject to all applicable, federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations and any dispute relating hereto will be determined by a Manitoba court applying Manitoba law and the laws of Canada as applicable therein.
14. Substitutions. MLCC reserves the right to make a prize substitution in the event of unavailability of a prize or any aspect thereof for reasons beyond the control of MLCC.
15. Errors and Omissions Excepted. MLCC is not responsible for printing, distribution or production errors and may, in their discretion, withdraw this contest if it is found to contain any such error, without liability to anyone whatsoever.
16. Personal Information. The personal information obtained from the contest entry form will not be used or disclosed by MLCC for any purpose other than general contest administration and the purpose set forth in Section 12 above. MLCC operates under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and will protect personal information with security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. MLCC will securely delete or dispose of personal contact information within six (6) months of the close of the contest. Stories and submissions may be retained indefinitely without identifying contact information unless express consent is received from the entrants.
